Keilor invite 2020
What An awesome weekend, so the plan was to get to the track early on Saturday morning for some practice but that didn’t happen due to a cancelled flight. I arrived at the track five minutes before my first 2wd stock open qualifier not even getting a chance to inspect the track. I started off in 2nd and quickly dropped to the back of the pack while trying to lean the track. By the end of the first qualifying I had worked my way back up to 7th and from there I Improved in the next two qualifies moving slowly up the field to qualify six overall in the A final. In the final my new team associated b6.2d was feeling great and I was able to drive my way up to first place by the middle of the race finding some confidence to push the car harder. The last couple of laps I found myself starting to drop in pace not sure if it was the car or myself with 2nd place quickly pulling me in and taking me on the last lap. Overall I am very happy with my 2wd result.
My team associated b74 was hooked up from the start throwing down some fast times taking all 3 qualifiers and earning TQ. The final is where the nerves kicked in not knowing if my car would last the 7-minute final as I run the car to its limits regarding motor temp. My first 2 minutes found myself struggling to keep my nerves under control making mistakes that I had not made all day and dropping back into 2nd position but found my head again after the 2 min mark and drove back to the first position taking the win.
I would like to thank the club for putting on such a great event, my family for their support , my teammates #CHR for getting my gear ready when my flights were delayed and my sponsors #CHR #Campbelltownhobbies #teamassociated
Congrats to the Campbelltown hobbies #CHR team on having a team driver on the podium in all but one discipline this was a result of great driving and teamwork.
